1. Overview
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by a website to remember information between page loads. This policy explains how TrackingTCG uses cookies and similar browser storage.
We take a minimal, privacy-first approach. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or any form of persistent analytics storage. The cookies we do use are strictly necessary for the site to function correctly.
2. Cookies We Use
TrackingTCG sets a small number of first-party cookies. All of them are strictly necessary for the site to function or to keep your account secure — we set no advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|
PHPSESSID |
Essential | PHP session identifier. Keeps you logged in, stores your CSRF security token, manages OAuth sign-in state, and enforces rate limits. | Session (deleted when you close your browser) |
theme_pref_mode |
Essential (functional) | Mirrors your saved light/dark theme preference so the correct theme is applied immediately on every page load — including across our subdomains — without flashing the wrong theme. Contains only the values light or dark. |
1 year |
__Secure-device_trust (production)device_trust (development) |
Essential (security) | Set only if you tick “Remember this device” during two-factor authentication. Lets you skip the 2FA prompt on subsequent logins from the same device. Contains an opaque random token tied to your account; it is not a login session by itself. | 30 days, or until you log out everywhere, change your password, change your email, or change your 2FA settings — any of which revokes it |
Browser/local storage
In addition to the cookies above, we use your browser’s localStorage (not a cookie) to remember a few interface preferences client-side. These values contain no personal data and are never sent to our servers:
- theme-preference — Saves your chosen colour theme (light or dark).
- view-preference-* — Remembers your preferred layout (grid vs. list) per page.
- collapsed-series — Which card series sections you have collapsed or expanded.
- sidebar-collapsed — Whether you have collapsed the dashboard sidebar.
You can clear these values at any time through your browser’s site-data settings.
3. Third-Party Authentication Cookies
If you choose to sign in using Google or Discord, those providers may set their own cookies on their domains during the authorisation process. These cookies are outside our control and governed by the respective providers’ privacy policies:
Once the sign-in flow completes and you return to TrackingTCG, only the first-party cookies described in section 2 are used to maintain your logged-in state.
4. What We Do Not Use
- Advertising or marketing cookies
- Third-party tracking or retargeting cookies
- Analytics cookies
- Social media tracking pixels
- Cross-site tracking of any kind
Because we use no non-essential cookies, we do not ask for cookie consent and we do not display a cookie consent banner. During account creation, we may record that this Cookie Policy was presented alongside the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, but that record is a legal-notice acknowledgement, not consent for optional cookies.
5. Your Choices
You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View all cookies currently stored
- Delete cookies for specific sites
- Block all cookies or cookies from specific sites
Please note that blocking the PHPSESSID session cookie will prevent you from signing in or staying logged in to TrackingTCG. All other site features that do not require authentication will continue to work without cookies.
6. Changes to This Policy
If we change how we use cookies, we will update this page and revise the “Last updated” date at the top. We encourage you to check back periodically.
7. Contact
